How do I place an advert?
Go to the "rent my space" page where you can register, fill out your space details and your advert will be automatically published.
How do I remove an advert?
1. Go to your user page where you will see a list of your adverts.
2. Click “unpublish”.
If your space becomes available for rent again and you want to re-advertise, simply click on “publish”.
You can also delete the listing but all the information will need to be re-entered should you want to re-advertise. Therefore we recommend that you choose the unpublish option.
What information should I include in my advert?
A tenant wants to know information about the space, the house in which it’s located and also the surrounding area. List what is included in the room and what facilities are available. Local shops, transport and leisure activities are often important to many tenants.
Will my personal information be displayed on the website?
To maintain your privacy, your name, email address and the first line of your address will not be displayed. Potential tenants can contact you via a contact form which will go straight to your email address. Your phone number will only be displayed if you choose to include it on the registration form.
Can I update my advert?
Yes you can. Here's how:
1. Go to your “my account” page
2. Find the listing you want to edit
3. Click on the “edit” link and make any changes.
4. Save your changes
Can I promote my advert so that it appears higher up on the "Find a Space" page?
No. At Bellrooms, we want to make it fair for everyone to have an equal chance at renting out their space. When searching for a space, the user will enter their desired location. However by default, the latest spaces will appear first. We believe this gives all landlords the best opportunity to find a tenant.
The "publish" option has disappeared - where has it gone?
This is because your limit has been reached. You need to unpublish an advert to be able to publish another.
You do this by clicking on the link at the top of the site "My Account" and then do the following:
Click "cancel my account" from the "My Account" page. You will receive an email to ask whether you want to cancel. Click on the link in the email to complete cancellation.
The above will completely remove your Bellrooms account and its content.
I have space abroad. Can I advertise it on Bellrooms?
At the moment, we are only accepting spaces that are UK-based but we are looking at changing this in the future.
You will receive 20 Bellpoints when you add your first listing. In simple terms, 1 point = 1 advert at any one time. So when you add a listing and it is published, your Bellpoints will reduce to 19.
You can create as many adverts as you like but you will only be able to "publish" them depending on the number of Bellpoints you have available. If you have used up all your Bellpoints, simply unpublish a listing and you will be able to publish another.
What are the benefits from registering with Bellrooms?
Once you've registered, you will be able to contact landlords about the spaces you are interested in. You will also be able to "favourite" space (see below).
Can I "favourite" spaces that I'm interested in?
Yes, if you have registered with Bellrooms, you can "favourite" the spaces you like. Here's how:
1. Navigate to the page which gives the full space description
2. At the bottom of the "space details" block on the right there is an "add to favourites" option.
3. Click on add to favourites and it will then show on your "my account" page.
Can I search for spaces in a particular town/city as well as a postcode?
Yes, you can search for space within a certain radius of a postcode or a town/city.
Do I have to pay to use the site?
How do I enquire about a space that I like?
To contact a landlord you need to register with Bellrooms. Once you have registered, you will see the landlord contact form appear on the relevant “room” page. You may also be able to contact a landlord via telephone if the landlord has chosen to include their phone number.
I’ve seen some offensive content on an advert. How do I tell you?
You can only report offensive content if you have registered with Bellrooms.
1. Navigate to the page which gives the full room description.
2. At the bottom of the "room details" block on the right there is a "report offensive content" option.
3. Click on this option and we will be notified and take appropriate action.
I don't seem to be getting emails from Bellrooms. Why is this?
It could be one of 2 reasons:
1. Perhaps you have mis-spelt your email. Take a look at the email on your ""my account" page and check it is correct.
2. The emails may be going to your "spam" or "junk" folder. Have a look to see if they are there and try adding our email (info [at] bellrooms.com) to your address book as this may prevent this happening in future.
